Wildflowers

from Motion & Bloom by Amberhill

/

about

Chronologically the last song composed on the album and the only song that was written in collaboration between Joshua Lau and Natalie Karl, the lyrics express a sense of frustration and monotony, acknowledging the repetitive nature of life's cycles, the desire for a meaningful purpose, and the struggle to break free from a seemingly unchanging routine, ultimately conveying a longing for a more vibrant and fulfilling existence.

lyrics

I can’t fake it, I’m bothered by it
Mind decides on the things that matter
Endless cycles, made up idylls
On repeat for some kind of comfort
I know, is makeshift at best

Days are looping, I’ve stopped counting
Times I’ve seen the sky turn to ash
Self defeating, I’ve been craving
A sense of place and a list of things to do
I know, is wishful at best

It’s always been the same thing
Running through the same chain
Wildflowers sprout, bloom as they please
End up in the same place
Can’t escape this basis
Wildflowers sprout, bloom as they please.

(On and on and on) I can’t stop it

Outside at last
Take in all the vibrant colors in the wind
Will this state last?
Can’t waste another day staring at a screen
I know, it’s just the way it goes

It’s always been the same thing
Running through the same chain
Wildflowers sprout, bloom as they please
End up in the same place
Can’t escape this basis
Wildflowers sprout, bloom as they please.

(On and on and on) I can’t stop it
(On and on and on) I can’t stop it
(On and on and on) I can’t stop
